See and Do | 1 Clutch : 3 Trends | Oxblood Leather Trend
/We're back with a follow-up to the basic clutch tutorial from our oh, awesome autumn issue. A few variations on the steps in the basic clutch tutorial, and you've got yourself a trendy little wine-colored clutch purse. Leather was everywhere on the runways for fall, and perhaps more notably - oxblood-colored leather. A fierce choice, indeed. Use a little burgundy table cloth vinyl and some cotton to treat yo'self to your own little take on this trend.
Materials:
(3) 6" x 12" cuts of wine-colored cotton fabric
(1) 7" x 9" cut of wine-colored cotton fabric
(1) 7" x 9" cut of wine-colored vinyl or leatherette (mine is table cloth vinyl)
(2) 6" x 12" cuts of heavy sew-in stabilizer
(1) magnetic snap closure
Putting It All Together (explained as variations on the basic clutch tutorial):
one: Cut one side of each of the 7" x 9" cuts at complimentary angles. Sew angled edges together, right sides facing. Press and trim to 6" x 12". Proceed with steps one through nine of the basic clutch.
