Fall is upon us, and if you’re like me, then you adjust your skincare routine. Fall brings cooler, dry weather and skin is usually in need of more tender loving care (especially if you suffer from dry skin). Problem areas that require extra care are usually hands, feet, elbows and knees.
These spots can get extra dry, and in the case of feet, elbows and knees: they can get a bit rough! The best way to get rid of that dry skin is to exfoliate and moisturize. Here is a simple yet effective way of accomplishing both that will keep that dry skin in check. This is a simple recipe and you probably have everything you need in your pantry.
An empty container
A craft stick, or something to mix ingredients with.
First, pour the sugar in your empty container. Then add the olive oil. Pour enough oil so you end up with a thick mixture. Usually a 50/50 ratio.
Next, get your craft stick and make sure you mix both the sugar and oil thoroughly. That’s it!
You can always add any essential oil you might want in order to make it smell nice. I think lavender would be a great pick!
Now you want to get some of your mixture and rub it over your dry skin. The sugar will help exfoliate and the olive oil will moisturize your skin as you rub the dry skin off. I prefer to do this for a few minutes.
Rinse it off, and notice the soft skin!I always like to give a personal touch to my container. I grabbed a couple of permanent markers and drew a simple design on the top.
And there you are, a simple yet effective way to get rid of dry skin.
