See and Do | Thanksgiving Placeholders - Two Ways

If you're having people over for Thanksgiving lunch or dinner, there's nothing that shows a guest they're welcome like a personalized placeholder.  In this 'See and Do,' I'm showing you how to make a couple of adorable apple placeholders, perfect for either a shmancy or a lower-key affair.

Gold-Dusted Apple Placeholder

Materials:

Miniature Faux Apples*, Gold Spray Paint, Cardstock, Fine-Tipped Marker

*You can pick up a bag of about 15 of these miniature faux apples in the floral section of your local craft store for about five bucks.

Putting It All Together:

1. Give each apple a dusting of gold spray paint.  There's no need to get full coverage.

2.  Cut small leaves from cardstock.  Write in your guests' names, and glue to the top stem of the apple.

Chalkboard Apple Placeholder

Materials:

Miniature Faux Apples, Chalkboard Spray Paint, Chalk

Putting It All Together:

1. Spray paint each apple until it's completely black.

2. To "prime" each apple, cover it in chalk and wipe it away.  Use a chalk marker to neatly write each of your guests' names.

Which of these is more your Thanksgiving style?
